We all have that favorite Chinese Restaurants in our hometowns that we just can’t get enough of. Mine is a little hole-in-the-wall joint I’ve been going to since I was in Jr. High.
My friends and I would walk the 6 blocks after school to sit at our little corner table and chow down before getting into.. whatever it is we did back then. I’m not sure if it’s mom-brain, whatever it is we did back then or the fact than I’ve hit 30 and the brain has started leaving things out (or a combination), that I can’t remember what that was. lol
Take Out Chicken and Broccoli
That was and still is my menu item of choice.
Fun Fact. I actually used to order, Chicken and Broccoli without the Broccoli. Ha!
I’m please to announce that I’ve put my grown-up pants on and began ordering with the broccoli and actually eating it, mostly… 😉
What’s with the inconsistency?
For whatever reason, my favorite little hole-in-the-wall Chinese Restaurant has been pretty inconsistent these past few years, which pushed me to make my own.
I’ve made this recipe quite a few times, tweaking it here and there, searching for perfection.
Folks, we finally have a winner!
My husband came home to a giddy, child-like wife, dancing and bouncing around the kitchen because I had finally done it. My Take Out Chicken and Broccoli was finally where I needed it to be to share with my viewers.
