Is it time for pie yet, mom?
Get used to hearing that question as long as this pie is still in the fridge. You know what though? You don’t have to feel so guilty about giving them pie because the filling is sugar-free. Yep, and the best part is they have no idea! Ha!
They’re happy. You’re happy. Everybody wins. 🙂
My mother in law introduced me to this delightful piece of heaven about 10 years ago. I would think, With four boys, where does she get the time to make this? Little did I know, it only took about 10 minutes to whip up! It was because of those four boys that she became so good at making such delicious desserts in record time.
Yes, it’s entirely possible to take short cuts and still have an outcome equal to if not greater than something completely homemade from scratch.
What can be better than that?
One of the main ingredients in our sugar-free banana cream pie is bananas!
Banana’s have an array of health benefits to us and specifically, to growing children. Not to mention, they are naturally sweet to satisfy that sweet tooth.
Some of the benefits include:
- Protect against muscle cramps in the active child
- Help build strong bones
- Reduce swelling and help protect against type 2 diabetes.
- Aids in digestion
- Bananas act as a prebitoic that stimulate the growth of healthy bacteria in the bowel.
- Assist in absorbing nutrients by producing digestive enzymes.
These are just a few of the amazing benefits that bananas offer. So add that to sugar-free and you’ve got yourself one incredible, guilt free dessert.
