What a special day it is! It’s my daughter’s 6th birthday! I swear I blinked and here we are from baby to 6 in no time at all. I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday though. My mother in law always says it’s the day a mother was born too and she is so right. I mean most everyone can say they think they know what love is, I thought I did prior to Khloe. I had no idea until the moment our eyes locked. It’s like the entire universe, the stars, moon, sun… just everything aligns for the first time in your life and every fiber of your being changes and you know this is love and this is what you were meant to be doing. It’s.. magical!
Okay so enough of the sap-sap stuff. Let’s get down to dinner. Mama’s BBQ Ribs. Sure some would say that all you need is a good BBQ Sauce. While I think that is very important, I would say even MORE important is the “rub.” Why, you ask? It’s simple. Flavor. Adding spices or a rub to your meat prior to cooking adds a new level of flavor and who doesn’t love multiple layers of yum? If you do, keep reading. I’ll walk you right through it.
First, in a 9×13 backing dish, layer about 2 lbs of Boneless Ribs. You’ll need salt, pepper and some Kickin’ Chicken Seasoning.
Next is the secret ingredient. 😉 Cinnamon Sugar.
Once you’re done seasoning with the rub either set it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to grill or… just get right to it. There’s no right or wrong way to proceed.
When you’re ready to grill. Preheat it on low. You’ll also need a bowl, brush and your favorite BBQ Sauce. Ours is Sweet Baby Rays, you can’t go wrong there!
Cook the ribs on the grill low for about 30-40 minutes, you’ll want to flip them a couple of times (about every 10 mins) and add another coat of BBQ Sauce. If you don’t have an outdoor grill, that’s okay! My husband is the outdoor grill guy but me, I prefer the Indoor Grill. It’s way less scary, in my humble opinion. lol
When cooked through, you can serve with fresh green beans and wild rice for a complete balanced meal you and your family will love.
