Starting a blog is a lot easier than you may think. I started this blog with no computer or technical skills. Just a dream to spend more time with my family while still contributing financially.
As parents, the most important job in the world is raising our children to be, kind, honest, intelligent, contributing members of society, yet we are forced to rely on others to do this so we can provide financially. This, in a nutshell, is why I love blogging so much.
Blogging has provided me a choice.
I was able to quit my banking career of nearly a decade to stay home with my kid’s thanks to this website.
Blogging is a legitimate way to make money online, from home and I can’t encourage you enough to get started now. My only regret is that I didn’t start blogging sooner.

Just how easy is it to start a blog?
Thanks to HostGator and WordPress it’s super easy!
The first think you need to do purchase hosting. Hosting is your server, and it allows people to find you on the internet. I use
Hosting is kind of like the empty storefront you intend to style and keep your products.
I use HostGator and love them for their 24/7 customer support and affordable prices. A lot of other hosting company’s like Bluehost have reasonable prices too but require you to pay for an entire year upfront.
For beginners, this can seem like a daunting commitment. As a result, I chose HostGator which allows an actual month to month payment. I have never had an issue with them and completely recommend them. They’ll even give you a full refund up to 45 days out if you aren’t happy so no worries!
To get started, head on over to HostGator and click on Get Started Now for $3.95/mo. —> Look for PROMO CODE below for a lower rate!
Next, choose the Hatchling Plan.
Next, you need to choose a domain name.
You want to be creative here but not crazy. I recommend going with your name (I wish I did) but if you’re uncertain, try coming up with something related to what you’re writing about. Be sure to set it as a .com or .net which seem more legitimate to readers.
After choosing your domain name, you’ll set up your login details and billing information.
Be sure to use code IMLUVINGTHISLIFE16 for 25% off of your web hosting!
Okay, friend! After finishing, you’ll download WordPress which is your creation tool. You’ll house your website here and amazingly; you do not have to be techy to use this.
I knew nada about websites or even computers for that matter before starting my blog.
P.S. – Once downloaded, you can find your WordPress page at http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin.
In your WordPress Admin, you can add a theme and customize to your liking. You can find themes by hovering on “Appearance” and choosing “Themes.” There are plenty of beautiful themes for free, but I highly recommend purchasing one that runs on Genisis as soon as you’re able.
Genisis Framework is SEO ready and offers hundreds of beautiful ready-to-go themes.
