I can’t believe it! 3,000 Page Views in my Second Month…
How cool, right!?
Before I started I’m Luving This Life, I did a ton of research and one thing was pretty clear.. It’s not an overnight success type of thing. It takes patience, LOTS of patience and hard work.
Sure, I get frustrated. I write and write and write… and then write some more and the page views just aren’t doing what I expect. There are other days (like today!) where I am just like, Wow! Is this real life?… I just checked Google Analytics and so far today, I’ve had close to 400 page views. That’s my total for the entire month of March in one day!
So what am I doing to get Page Views?
I market the crap out of this blog.
Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are my main social networks and although Facebook was last to the party, it’s doing really well. I was really hesitant to introduce it to my friends. I just didn’t want to feel like a failure if nobody liked it. Duh! Like I don’t have some of the most awesome friends a gal could ask for!? Of course they are all beyond supportive. 🙂
- Pinterest – I L.O.V.E Pinterest! A virtual bulletin board with every creative imagination (like yours!) on the planet contributing. What the heck is not to love!? Seriously though, it has been my number one referrer of traffic since I started my blog. I have been giving the Pinterest love to others and they have been giving it back (Thank you!). Group Boards are an awesome way to show that love. You get the advantage of a pre-existing fan base to pin for and the other contributors get their pins re-pinned. It’s a win-win! Another thing I’d recommend doing with Pinterest is see who is following your blogging friends and follow them. A lot of times, they’ll follow back. 🙂
- Twitter – This is something I’ve never done prior to starting I’m Luving This Life. *Say, whaaat?* Yep, I’m serious. I still call the “#hashtag” a pound sign
and all of a sudden I feel old!I have to say though, I really like it! It amazes me how many bloggers connect on there. I was super lucky to stumble upon (<– why does that sound familiar?) a few awesome ladies who’ve helped me tremendously. Saira over at Mom Resource is so genuine and kind. She is so quick to retweet and support, not to mention her site really is full of helpful resources. 🙂 Trista over at Domesticated Momster is such a cool chick. She holds weekly “link parties” where you share a recent blog post and help promote each other. I love it! The first week I did it, I felt like such a Newb.. I kept thinking I was linking up but I was really just tweeting her repeatedly. LOL She stepped right in and did it for me. 🙂 I did a better job at reading the directions the following week. Ha!
- Facebook & Instagram are my lost puppies that are slowly starting to find their way.. I truly believe with blogging, you get what you put in.. and they’ve been neglected. I’ll work on that. 🙂
The Little Engine That Could…
I couldn’t write a post about how I got 3000 page views in my second month without mentioning my Green Bean Recipe. Man, this recipe is like the little engine that could! It has contributed to about 3/4 of my page views in April. It has been repinned nearly 300 times and just continues to chug along.. When I check my stats at night, I tell my husband there goes that dang green bean recipe again… And I’m so glad. 🙂
Thanks for hanging out with me for a while! If I’ve helped or inspired or motivated you in any way then I’m doing alright. 🙂
